Local Roof Surveys · Sussex

Choose the survey around the decision you need to make.

You do not need to know the inspection method in advance. Start with your question; we can then discuss the roof areas, access and report needed to answer it.

Purpose first

Which situation sounds like yours?

01

Before buying a home

A closer look at the roof before you commit, with clear questions for your property adviser.

02

After a building survey

A focused response to roof comments, access limitations or a recommendation for specialist advice.

04

A flat roof concern

Visible coverings, outlets, upstands, edges and the evidence behind repair decisions.

A drone is a method, not a separate answer.

A drone can help obtain photographs of roof slopes and details that are hard to see from the ground. The value of the survey depends on interpreting those images and being clear about what remains out of view.

Some questions need closer physical access, loft observations or a separate specialist. Those elements must be specifically agreed; they should never be assumed to be included simply because the service is called a roof survey.

Ask aboutWhy it matters
Roof areasA main roof, rear extension, garage and shared chimney are not automatically one instruction.
AccessGround views, aerial photography and internal access provide different evidence.
OutputPhotographs alone differ from a written interpretation of the findings.
Repair costsAn estimate, a firm quotation and a condition report are different documents.
Report useA buyer, managing agent and insurer may require different information.

Before you enquire

Your questions, answered.

Can one inspection address more than one concern?

Often it can, but tell us all the reasons for the visit. A roof inspection for a purchase will not automatically answer a separate insurer’s question or cover another building.

Do I need a drone inspection or a roof condition survey?

A condition survey describes the purpose. A drone describes one possible way of gathering evidence. The suitable method follows from the property and the questions being asked.

What if you cannot answer my question from the available view?

The report should identify the limitation and explain what additional access or specialist input is needed. An inaccessible area should not be described as defect-free.
